Geomatics Supervisor for Forensic Excavation Project at Tuam

The Director is seeking a qualified Geomatics Supervisor to lead geospatial data collection, management, and processing for a forensic excavation project at the former Mother and Baby Institution site in Tuam, County Galway, Ireland. This role operates under the Institutional Burials Act (2022), requiring all work to be conducted under strict forensic control standards. The Geomatics Supervisor will be part of a multidisciplinary team responsible for excavating, recording, and recovering human remains and associated artifacts using single-context archaeology methods. Key responsibilities include gathering and managing all geospatial data throughout the excavation, ensuring compliance with forensic protocols, and reporting directly to the Site Coordinator. The successful contractor must demonstrate expertise in geomatics technology, forensic archaeology standards, and the ability to work effectively within a specialized excavation team under regulated conditions.
