UK Guidelines for Managing Human-Wildlife Conflict and Coexistence

This research opportunity seeks to develop practical guidelines for managing human-wildlife conflict and promoting coexistence in the UK. The work will evaluate and adapt International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) guidance to suit UK conditions, incorporating input from key stakeholders including wildlife managers, conservation organizations, farmers, local communities, and government agencies. The successful applicant will conduct research to assess how existing global best practices can be applied in the UK context, identify gaps in current guidance, and produce evidence-based recommendations that balance wildlife protection with human interests and livelihoods.
