London Violence Reduction Unit Mayoral Youth Clubs Safety Programme

The London Violence Reduction Unit (VRU) is seeking a specialist organisation to deliver the Mayoral Youth Clubs Safety Programme across 33 youth club partnerships in London. This pan-London service will embed specialised youth workers within Mayoral Youth Clubs to identify, engage, and support young people aged 14-24 who are experiencing or at risk of violence, exploitation, and related harms. The programme complements the VRU's tertiary violence reduction offer and aims to strengthen pathways of support through earlier identification, partnership working, and specialist interventions. Key responsibilities include: building trusted relationships with vulnerable young people; conducting needs assessments and contextual safeguarding evaluations; providing one-to-one support and casework; facilitating referrals to statutory and specialist services; delivering group workshops on safety awareness; and operating as a connected pan-London practitioner network to share learning across boroughs. The service will operate with a minimum 2:1 borough to youth worker ratio, embed trauma-informed and culturally sensitive practice, and work collaboratively with youth club providers, local authorities, safeguarding partners, and community organisations. The contract value is up to £3,000,000 (excl. VAT) for the period 1 March 2027 – 31 March 2029, with an option to extend to 31 March 2030. This is a market warming session jointly delivered with the VRU's Tertiary Service to strengthen London's violence prevention infrastructure.
