GP IT and Corporate IT Support Services for Thames Valley Integrated Care Board

Thames Valley Integrated Care Board (ICB) is seeking a direct award supplier for GP IT and Corporate IT support services following the merger of Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire, West Berkshire, and parts of Frimley ICBs. The current provider will cease operations in December 2026, creating an urgent need for continuity. This is a transitional contract lasting 24 months (estimated value £9.35m excluding VAT) to stabilise services while a compliant regional procurement process is prepared for Spring 2027. The direct award is justified due to: insufficient time for a full procurement process; the need to manage operational risks and maintain critical NHS essential services; requirements for a single technical solution providing parity across the new geography; and the supplier's existing contract and GP IT experience within the cluster. The awarded supplier must ensure continuity of GP IT infrastructure, support services, and corporate IT systems to prevent service disruption and protect patient care. During the 24-month contract term, Thames Valley ICB will undertake a compliant procurement process to transition to the long-term regional operating model being developed with Kent & Medway and Surrey & Sussex ICBs. A voluntary standstill period runs from 7 October to 16 October 2026.
