Cleaning Services Contract - Maidstone Grammar School

Maidstone Grammar School is seeking a cleaning contractor to provide comprehensive cleaning services for a 1,442-pupil and 143-staff secondary school. This is a fixed-price contract valued at £998,800 (£199,760 per annum) for a 3-year term from 1 August 2026 to 31 July 2029, with an optional 2-year extension to 31 July 2031. Services include daily term-time cleaning and periodic deep cleaning throughout the year. The school prioritises best value over lowest cost and welcomes innovative proposals to enhance cleaning standards and facility maintenance. Key requirements include: £5 million employers' and public liability insurance, minimum annual company turnover of £900,000, National Living Wage compliance, and a collaborative management approach that supports and develops cleaning staff. Transparent reporting and excellent communication with the school are essential. The tender will follow a two-stage Competitive Flexible procedure.
