Ticket Vending Machine Operation and Maintenance Services for Greater Manchester Metrolink

This is a single-source procurement opportunity to provide comprehensive operation and maintenance services for 223 Ticket Vending Machines (TVMs) across the Greater Manchester Metrolink Light Rail Network until April 2029, with potential extensions beyond. The service contract will cover device operation and user interface management, payment processing (cash, chip and PIN, and contactless cards), back-office payment services with PCI DSS compliance, infrastructure monitoring and incident management, and cash collection. The TVMs enable customers to purchase single and multi-modal travel tickets in multiple European languages. This is a critical service requiring robust operational arrangements and secure, compliant systems to maintain service continuity and reliability across the Metrolink network. The current service provider is Scheidt and Bachmann Fare Collection Systems GMBH, the original equipment manufacturer.
