    Brief

NHS commissioners across Bath and North East Somerset, Swindon, Wiltshire, Somerset, and Dorset (including Bournemouth and Poole) are seeking a qualified provider to deliver eye care services to children and young people with special educational needs in school settings. The service will conduct annual sight tests within schools, provide appropriate frames or NHS vouchers, and refer patients for specialist care where needed. Key responsibilities include collaborating with school staff and families, obtaining consent, supporting attendance by parents and carers, and producing eye health reports. This is a new service commencing 1st April 2027 under a 3-year contract with an optional 2-year extension. The procurement is being managed by NHS South, Central & West on behalf of the three Integrated Care Boards. TUPE does not apply. Providers should demonstrate capability and capacity to deliver across the entire specified footprint and meet all clinical and administrative requirements.
