Software Engineering Services for Alpha Digital Product Development

Oak National Academy is seeking experienced software engineering services to design, develop, and deliver an alpha digital product. The successful supplier will work collaboratively with Oak's engineering teams and project sponsors throughout the project lifecycle. Key responsibilities include: - Building the alpha product using Oak's technology stack (Next.js, React, TypeScript) - Leveraging Oak's component library and ensuring compliance with Government Digital Service (GDS) accessibility standards - Integrating with Sanity CMS and Oak's infrastructure (PostgreSQL, Vercel) - Implementing comprehensive quality assurance including automated testing, UI testing, static analysis, and code reviews - Applying secure development practices and promptly addressing any identified vulnerabilities - Setting up application logging, telemetry, and monitoring systems - Developing integrations with third-party services, APIs, MCP services, knowledge graphs, and semantic search capabilities - Collaborating with Oak's platform and engineering teams to ensure security, maintainability, CI/CD alignment, and consistent architectural standards - Supporting transition of the completed alpha product to the Department for Education, including comprehensive technical documentation, knowledge transfer sessions, and assistance with migration to Department for Education infrastructure This is an opportunity to contribute to a significant educational technology initiative with clear handover and long-term impact.
