Catering and Educational Opportunities at Barton's Point Coastal Park, Sheerness

Swale Borough Council is seeking experienced operators for one or both of two opportunities at Barton's Point Coastal Park, a 31-hectare leisure and wildlife site in Sheerness, Kent. Lot 1 offers a lease for the Old Boathouse Café, a waterside building with patio area suitable for food and beverage operations that contribute to community engagement and social value. Lot 2 invites proposals for structured outdoor learning programmes, potentially including use of the lake and grassland areas for seasonal activities. Successful bidders must demonstrate financial viability, strong community values, environmental sensitivity (particularly regarding the adjacent scheduled ancient monument), and ability to operate year-round or seasonally. The Council will continue basic grounds maintenance while operators manage their specific areas. Proposals should include a business plan with 3+ year financial projections, evidence of relevant experience, operational details, social value commitments, and two business references. Terms sought are minimum 3 years with annual rent payable to the Council. Expressions of interest close 12pm Monday 5th October 2026.
