Short Breaks and Support Services for Disabled Children

This Framework enables the Council to fulfill its legal obligations to provide services for disabled children. It covers two key areas: (1) care package support for disabled children already receiving services, and (2) Short Breaks provision for eligible disabled children. Short Breaks are planned periods of care that provide relief for families and carers while supporting the child's wellbeing and development. The Framework will establish approved suppliers and service standards to ensure consistent, quality provision across both service types. Suppliers can bid to provide services such as day care, respite care, activity programs, and other support tailored to disabled children's needs.
