West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service (WYFRS), the UK's fourth-largest fire and rescue service serving 2.2 million people across 800 square miles with approximately 1,500 staff, is seeking suppliers for comprehensive employee health and wellness benefits. The contract encompasses two main components: (1) a healthcare cash plan enabling employees to reclaim routine medical expenses including prescriptions, dental, optical, specialist consultations, and diagnostic scans, plus access to preventative services such as 24/7 GP support, counselling, and cancer screening; and (2) private medical insurance providing access to accredited private hospitals for consultations, diagnostics, and surgical procedures to reduce NHS waiting times. The contract term is a minimum of 3 years with optional extensions of +1 and +1 years (maximum 5 years total), with an estimated budget of £150,000-£200,000. The formal tender is expected to launch on 26 November 2026.
