Community Engagement Partner for Walsall Archive Project

Walsall Council is looking for a skilled provider to implement a community engagement program for the Walsall Archive for All project. This initiative, funded by the National Lottery Heritage Fund, aims to create a new digital archive that enhances our understanding of Walsall's cultural history. The project will involve co-curating untold heritage stories using materials collected from local residents, uncovering hidden archives, and showcasing the diverse culture of the Borough through exhibitions both online and in-person. Inspired by the collection of local individual Jack Haddock, the project will digitally archive audio and visual content from various community members, celebrating their stories, identities, and shared experiences. By digitizing thousands of images and audio recordings in collaboration with Walsall Council Archives, Walsall for All, and Walsall College, this project aims to create a more inclusive and accessible digital archive that represents the evolving identity of the Borough, ensuring it remains publicly accessible for future generations.
