Procurement of Trained Patrol Dogs for Police

The police department is seeking to procure four trained young patrol dogs. The evaluation of the dogs will take place at Kongsvinger Police University College during the 48th week of 2025, with the expectation that the dogs will be ready for delivery in the 49th week of 2025. Additionally, there is an option for the police to acquire two more trained patrol dogs within the same year, with a deadline to activate this option by December 31, 2025. These patrol dogs are trained to search for people and objects in various environments and are certified for use in apprehending individuals. Some dogs may also have specialized training in areas such as drug detection, weapon searches, avalanche searches (winter training), urban search and rescue (USAR), and criminal investigations. The dogs must be socially stable, possess strong prey drive, and be resilient in different environments. The preferred breeds include German Shepherds and Malinois, as well as their mixes. Final approval and funding for this procurement are contingent upon the signing of the contract.
