Media Technology for Lecture Halls at the University of Hamburg

The University of Hamburg (UHH) is a leading research university in Germany with over 43,000 students and approximately 6,000 staff members. As part of its 'Flagship University' concept, UHH fosters innovative partnerships and aims to produce educational and knowledge-sharing goods sustainably. The MIN-Forum and Computer Science buildings are new constructions on the UHH campus, providing approximately 19,500 square meters of space for lecture halls, seminar rooms, laboratories, offices, a library, a cafeteria, and communal areas for students, faculty, and researchers. The project includes two buildings: Building A with seven floors and Building B with eleven floors. The MIN-Forum is part of a strategic development to enhance interdisciplinary collaboration and spatial density on campus. A new building for Mathematics and Computer Science, including a modern data center, will also be constructed nearby. This project represents a new approach to media technology at UHH, with the entire building equipped with AV-over-IP (AVoIP) technology for scalable and flexible signal distribution. Teaching and event spaces will support both in-person and hybrid formats at the highest technical standards. The media infrastructure will seamlessly integrate video, audio, and streaming solutions for real-time online and on-site experiences. Additionally, user-friendly media control systems will facilitate easy operation for faculty and students. The procurement process focuses on acquiring media technology for the setup of seven lecture halls, including delivery, installation, commissioning, configuration, and programming adjustments.
