Load Forecasting Tool Implementation for Indian Power Sector

The Indian power sector is crucial for sustainable economic growth and achieving the country's Net Zero target by 2070. This Request for Quotation (RFQ) seeks a supplier to assist in adapting and implementing a load forecasting tool, initially developed under the UK PACT initiative, for use in the states of Delhi, Gujarat, and Tamil Nadu. The project aims to improve long-term electricity demand forecasting and enhance resource adequacy planning at the state level. The selected supplier will collaborate with the Central Electricity Authority (CEA), state distribution companies (DISCOMs), and other stakeholders to customize the tool to meet local requirements, conduct pilot testing, and incorporate scenario-based forecasting. Key activities will include data collection, engaging with stakeholders, building capacity, and creating a sustainability and handover plan. Additionally, the project will showcase the tool's scalability to other states, contributing to better planning, regulatory alignment, and more resilient power systems.
