    Brief

The Natural History Museum is seeking a Principal Contractor to undertake the complete exhibition fit-out for Gallery 33, a new permanent gallery opening in September 2027 at the South Kensington location. The contractor will be responsible for delivering the exhibition build-out in the Grade 1 listed Waterhouse East Building, including project management of sub-contractors such as an AV Integrator and specialist showcase manufacturer. Gallery 33 is designed for young children aged 4-7 and their adults, featuring world-leading natural history collections combined with hands-on, multi-sensory interactive experiences. The gallery will occupy approximately 1,000 square meters on the ground floor, replacing the current Creepy Crawlies gallery. Key responsibilities include coordinating all trades, managing quality standards, adhering to heritage building requirements, and ensuring completion by September 2027. The successful contractor will deliver a free, permanent gallery expected to welcome millions of visitors over its 25-year lifespan. This is a high-profile project supporting the Museum's mission to inspire the next generation of environmental advocates.
