Real-Time PCR Equipment Procurement

HUS is seeking bids for the procurement of two real-time PCR (Polymerase Chain Reaction) devices. These devices will be used at the HUS Diagnostic Center located at Topeliuksenkatu 32, 00290 Helsinki. One device will be allocated to the virology and immunology unit (area 1: virology) and the other to the bacteriology unit (area 2: bacteriology). The real-time PCR device is a laboratory instrument that allows for the amplification and quantification of DNA in real-time. The procurement will select one supplier for each area. The scope of the procurement includes the installation of the PCR devices, ensuring they are fully operational, and providing training for the buyer's staff. Additionally, the procurement includes Finnish-language maintenance and support services for the devices. A minimum warranty of 24 months must be provided for the real-time PCR devices. Further details about the procurement are outlined in the request for proposals and its attachments. The devices will be purchased with a one-time payment. The buyer reserves the option to purchase one additional device per area during the years 2026-2028. The buyer will decide separately on the use of this option. The contracting authority reserves the right to conduct a trial use of the winning supplier's product based on preliminary bid comparisons before signing the procurement decision. The trial use is described in more detail in the request for proposals under the criteria for the procurement item, Trial Use. The buyer reserves the option to enter into a maintenance agreement with the supplier, as outlined in the request for proposals, maintenance level 3. The maintenance service for the devices and the related maintenance agreement will be signed after the warranty period (24 months). The maintenance agreement will be valid for one year at a time after signing. If the supplier offers device-specific accessories that cannot be replaced with accessories from other manufacturers, a supply agreement for device-specific accessories will be established with the selected supplier.
