Environmental Protection Services – Amphibian Species Survey in Germany

This project aims to assess the current distribution and population status of amphibian species in the northwestern region of Saxony-Anhalt, specifically between the towns of Schmölau, Arendsee, Brome, and Stendal. The survey will focus particularly on species listed in Annexes II and IV of the Habitats Directive. The work includes a comprehensive inventory of species over three survey dates, an evaluation of the conservation status of the identified populations of Annex II and IV species, and documentation of the findings. The tender is for the amphibian survey to be conducted in 2029 across approximately 15 mapping sheets. The project is divided into three geographical lots, each of which can be bid on separately. The study area is located in the northern and western parts of Saxony-Anhalt, bordered by the towns of Gardelegen to the north, Weferlingen to the west, and Magdeburg to the southeast. The area primarily falls within the northern Börde district, with smaller portions in the districts of Salzwedel and Stendal. The western boundary is defined by the state border with Lower Saxony, and the eastern boundary follows the Elbe River. The area is divided into four lots: Lot 1 - Between Gardelegen and Dolle, Lot 2 - Between Oebisfelde and Brumby, Lot 3 - Between Cröchern and Wanzleben, Lot 4 - Between Mahlwinkel and Magdeburg.
