Construction of a New School and Sports Facilities in Schönwalde

The municipality of Wandlitz plans to build a new school site in the Schönwalde district for a total of 540 children. This facility will serve as a three-stream primary school and will also include a cafeteria that can be used for public events, as well as a two-court sports hall with associated outdoor sports areas. Additionally, spaces for after-school care will be integrated into the school building. The new school building will extend along Bernauer Damm, in line with the newly created pathway from the center of Schönwalde. The school and sports hall will share a common entrance area that accommodates all arrival functions. The two-story school building will consist of four clusters that are staggered in a north-south direction, creating protected schoolyards in the outdoor area. The school building will have a gross floor area (GFA) of 7,069 m² and a gross volume (GV) of 29,121 m³. No basement will be constructed. The compact new two-court sports hall will be divided into two areas: the elevated two-court sports hall located to the south and a two-story northern section. The new sports hall will have a GFA of 2,121 m² and a GV of 14,058 m³, with no basement. The project aims for a Silver certification under the Sustainable Building Assessment System (BNB) for educational buildings, version 2017 (BNB_UN_2017). Additionally, the client has applied for funding as a climate-friendly non-residential building with QNG (KFN NWG-QNG), which requires compliance with the special requirements of the Sustainable Buildings quality label (QNG) at the QNG-Plus level. To achieve this goal, adherence to the requirements outlined in the specifications during planning and construction is necessary.
