Water Supply Services and Related Services – Cold Water "Partial Replacement" Water Supply, Radio Module

The municipality of Emmen currently has 3,263 water meters installed, which are maintained by the Emmen Water Supply (WVE). Over the past ten years, approximately 1,200 manual water meters have been replaced with water meters equipped with an additional radio module. These are read once a year using a drive-by method. The remaining approximately 2,100 water meters are read manually by the water supply operating personnel. Real-time readings or more than just the meter readings are not currently required. If additional data can be read beyond the standardized meter reading, it must be ensured that this data can be individually deactivated. This is the only way to guarantee that only the information relevant to the municipality of Emmen is transmitted. With the transition to drive-by reading for all water meters, it is necessary for the provider's system to transmit the data in an appropriate format. Currently, the transmission occurs via an XML file through a reading interface into the municipality of Emmen's Innosolvcity system. In the interest of efficient resource use and ecological responsibility, no radio water meters that are less than 10 years old will be replaced as part of this project, as they still meet the requirements. Therefore, it must be possible to merge the data from the existing water meters with radio modules and the new system into a single file without additional effort.
