    Brief

This is a modification notice to the contract awarded to Breffni Building and Civil Engineering Ltd for waste removal and boundary wall construction at Darndale Park, Dublin. The original contract involved clearing and removing approximately 40,000 tonnes of illegally dumped waste, constructing boundary treatments, and building 117 meters of 2.5-meter-high precast concrete walls and footpaths between Darndale Park and a Traveller Accommodation site on Dublin's north side. Core works include site clearance, waste removal (primarily non-hazardous), asbestos removal, removal of end-of-life vehicles and electrical goods, invasive species treatment, concrete wall construction, new footpath development, and environmental monitoring. The project includes provisions for hazardous waste removal if discovered. Temporary works encompass construction of haul roads for site access, service protection, work area fencing, and all reinstatement activities. Contract modifications were issued for additional scope including removal of extra waste volumes, horse carcasses, contaminated materials, oil, historic concealed waste, excavation backfilling, watermain construction following burst pipe discovery, drainage construction delays, and time extensions due to local obstructions.
