    Brief

This procurement opportunity is for equipment, reagents, and supplies to be used in sequencing research at the HUS Diagnostic Center's Genetics Laboratory. The laboratory's operations are governed by the SFS-EN ISO 15189:2022 standard, the EU regulation on in vitro diagnostic medical devices (EU 2017/746), and national legislation on medical devices (719/2021). The products used in the laboratory must comply with these requirements. The laboratory is preparing to implement whole genome sequencing (WGS) and RNA sequencing (RNA-seq) studies. The equipment to be procured must also be suitable for sequencing WES libraries produced in the laboratory's existing whole exome sequencing (WES) studies. The procurement consists of three parts: 1. Sequencing System: This part requests bids for a sequencing system to be used for reading the base sequences of WES, WGS, and RNA-seq libraries. The sequencing system must include all necessary equipment and accessories for sequencing library preparation, measuring, processing, and converting base calling signals, as well as software and computational solutions for quality control, preprocessing, alignment, expression value analysis, and mutation analysis. 2. WGS Library Preparation Reagents and Supplies: This part requests bids for reagents and supplies for preparing WGS libraries from isolated DNA samples for sequencing. 3. RNA Library Preparation Reagents and Supplies: This part requests bids for reagents and supplies for preparing RNA-seq libraries from isolated RNA samples for sequencing. Each part must include all necessary equipment, services, information systems, and supplies, excluding tertiary analysis software. The buyer reserves the right to use existing equipment in the laboratory instead of ordering new. In parts two and three, all necessary reagents and supplies must be provided, excluding adapters and size selection/purification beads, if the laboratory can use existing products. The sequencing system must be compatible with the buyer's current sequencing equipment to enhance operational flexibility and minimize potential downtime. The estimated annual sample volume for WES studies is expected to rise to 2000 samples, with some samples transitioning to WGS studies. The annual sample volume for RNA-seq studies is estimated at 700 samples. The offered equipment, services, systems, and reagents will be used for determining the base sequences of human DNA and RNA. They will be part of the processes for genome-wide studies in the Genetics Laboratory, and must be compatible with existing reagents and equipment. The Genetics Laboratory reserves the right to assess compatibility with current processes. The integration of products must maintain high sequencing quality, adhering to the quality requirements for exome sequencing and the specifications outlined in the "Description of HUSLAB WES process" and meet the requirements for trial use. The purpose of the offered sequencing system (Part 1) is to sequence libraries prepared from human DNA or RNA and to perform primary and secondary analysis of the sequencing data produced. The purpose of the offered reagents (Part 2) is to prepare WGS sample libraries from DNA isolated from whole blood, bone marrow, cultured cells, and fresh or frozen tissue. The purpose of the offered reagents (Part 3) is to prepare RNA-seq sample libraries from RNA isolated from whole blood, bone marrow, cultured cells, and fresh or frozen tissue, including a step to remove ribosomal RNA (rRNA) and optionally globin RNA (gRNA).
