    Brief

The Iberian Center for Energy Storage Research (CIIAE) aims to establish a research facility in Extremadura to address technological and scientific challenges in managing green energy production. This will involve deploying energy storage technologies based on lithium-ion, as well as industrial applications for hydrogen production, storage, and transportation on a large scale. The CIIAE will feature laboratories that support the entire energy storage cycle, from the chemistry and physics of materials to scaling and application, including testing connected storage systems. Additionally, it will have unique infrastructures for high-power equipment testing and advanced management pilot networks and microgrids. The project includes the construction of urban infrastructures and buildings on the University Campus of Cáceres, equipped with the necessary scientific and technological equipment and pilot plants, along with essential basic equipment for its activities. FUNDECYT-PCTEX will manage the procurement of this equipment, acting as a bridge between the establishment of the CIIAE and the formation of a legal entity that will take over the acquired equipment and all related contracts during the execution period. The contract involves the design, supply, installation, and commissioning of a series of laboratory-scale prototype scientific equipment for research in processes such as electrolysis, catalysis, adsorption, and thermal cycling, intended for the CIIAE in Cáceres. These prototypes will be integrated into the CIIAE Microgrid, with specific characteristics detailed in the tender documentation.
