Film Preservation and Digitization Services

This procurement opportunity aims to establish contracts for two key services: 1) Disinfection of film reels and 2) Digitization of film reels. The project focuses on preserving the most valuable parts of the film collections from the Historical Museum of the National Museum. The selected supplier will be responsible for reviewing the films, enhancing metadata, making them accessible for researchers, and ensuring their safe storage in a climate-controlled facility at the Central Depository in Terezín. The analog film collections are currently in poor physical condition and stored in temporary quarantine facilities with unstable climate conditions. The films can only be transferred to clean storage with optimal conditions after they have been disinfected, cleaned, and digitized. This process will not only make the film collections accessible for research but also ensure their optimal and stable storage conditions.
