Supply of Electronic Publications for University Library

The contract involves the procurement, subscription, and access to foreign electronic periodicals, electronic publication packages, general databases (both full-text and reference), and e-books for the University Library of the University of Alicante for the year 2026. This is divided into two lots: LOT I includes individual foreign electronic periodicals and packages of foreign electronic periodicals; LOT II includes general databases (full-text and reference) and e-books. This procurement is essential to meet the research and teaching needs of the university, requiring a collection of over 74,000 electronic periodicals, either individually or in packages. Specialized agents in the publishing sector are needed to manage these subscriptions effectively. By consolidating subscription management, the University of Alicante aims to streamline processes, enhance control over access issues, and have a single point of contact for managing electronic access to publications from various publishers. The usage of this collection is reviewed annually based on cost-effectiveness indicators and discussed in User Committees to ensure resources align with teaching and research needs.
