Environmental Protection Services – Monitoring of Snail Species in Saxony-Anhalt

This contract involves conducting a comprehensive sampling monitoring of the narrow-mouthed snail (Vertigo angustior) and the fat-mouthed snail (Vertigo moulinsiana) as per the monitoring concepts established by the federal and state authorities. The aim is to assess the conservation status in accordance with the Habitats Directive. Field data will be collected and evaluated based on standardized criteria. This work will provide the necessary conservation data for the preparation of the national report from Saxony-Anhalt to the Federal Republic of Germany, and subsequently to fulfill reporting obligations to the European Union under the Habitats Directive. Key tasks include: - Sampling monitoring of snails (federal and state monitoring) - Data collection and preliminary work - Field surveys - Collection of population parameters for the snails - Assessment of habitat and impact parameters - Evaluation of conservation status - Data entry.
