Co-Managed Security Operations Centre Service

Bournemouth University is seeking a co-managed Security Operations Centre (SOC) service to enhance its cyber security operations. The University has invested in Microsoft security technologies including Sentinel, Defender XDR, Entra ID Protection and Security Copilot, and now seeks external specialist support through a co-managed model. Key service objectives include: - 24/7 or out-of-hours monitoring, detection and response capabilities - Improved threat detection, triage, false-positive reduction and incident response - Additional specialist expertise, operational resilience and surge capacity - Maintenance and continuous improvement of detection rules, playbooks and automation - Leveraging threat intelligence, sector insight and AI-enabled capabilities - Establishing clear governance, reporting and service management frameworks - Maximising existing Microsoft security investments with minimal additional tooling This is a Preliminary Market Engagement exercise to understand available service models, implementation approaches, commercial arrangements and indicative costs. Supplier feedback will inform the University's future requirements, budget planning and procurement strategy.
