Rewinding of Electric Traction Motors for BLS Locomotives

This procurement opportunity involves the rewinding of electric traction motors, specifically the ABB 6 FHA 7067 type, used in BLS Re 465 series locomotives. The stator winding of these motors needs to be replaced. The stator will be provided by the buyer, and the supplier is required to rewind and insulate it, returning it in a ready-to-install and tested condition. The assembly of the traction motors and final static and dynamic testing will be conducted by the buyer at their facility in Bönigen, Switzerland. The stator will be roughly cleaned and provided on a transport frame, with all unnecessary components removed (e.g., temperature probe). The supplier must remove the existing winding and inspect the lamination package for any damage, documenting the findings. After rewinding according to specifications, the winding must be protected with a durable silicone-based insulation system suitable for the expected operating temperatures. The insulation must be applied using the VPI process and coated with a compatible silicone-based protective lacquer. The rewinding also includes replacing the connection cables, including terminals and insulation, as well as labeling. The connection box must be filled with an appropriate product. The inspection of the rewound stator must follow the guidelines in the winding sheet ABB 3EHM 412954 and be documented. Upon delivery, the stator must be freshly painted, with all holes and threads cleaned (and re-threaded if necessary) and sealed to prevent contamination. All surfaces that should not be painted must also be cleaned and protected with a suitable, easily removable preservative oil for short-term storage. In summary, the supplier is responsible for the following tasks: • Removal of the existing winding • Inspection of the lamination package using thermography, with documentation • Cleaning of the stator, including all holes, threads, and mounting surfaces • Rewinding of the stator according to specifications, replacement of connection cables • Insulation of the winding with silicone-based material and filling of the connection box • Electrical testing of the rewound winding according to specifications, with documentation • Fresh painting of the stator • Protection against contamination and corrosion during storage and transport • Submission of inspection reports to the buyer • Manufacturing of 2 ready-to-install rotors • Manufacturing of 2 coil sets • Manufacturing of 2 stator lamination packages Any damage to the stators not covered by the rewinding, discovered after delivery to the supplier's facility or during the rewinding process, will be handled through separate repair orders.
