Procurement of Interpretation Services

This contract opportunity is for interpretation services for various units of the City of Lappeenranta, the municipality of Luumäki, the municipality of Rautjärvi, the municipality of Taipalsaari, the South Karelia Education Consortium (Sampo), and Saimaan Tukipalvelut Oy (SaTu). The detailed description of the procurement is provided in Appendix 1 of the request for proposals. A framework agreement will be established in the following areas: 1. On-site interpretation, 2. Remote interpretation: pre-booked remote interpretation and urgent interpretation, and 3. Other languages with a maximum of three service providers, unless there are fewer acceptable providers. The framework agreement specifies a priority order based on the comparison price, which will guide the interpretation orders. The framework agreement is planned to start on December 1, 2024, and end on November 30, 2026 (24 months). The contracting authority reserves the right to extend the actual contract period by two optional years (1 + 1). The contracting authority will make a separate decision regarding the potential exercise of the option before the end of the contract period or the optional period. Any proposed price changes for the optional years must be communicated in writing to the contracting authority at least 90 days before the start of the optional year. Interpretation services will be procured during the contract period based on the actual needs of the clients. There is no obligation for minimum purchase. Public employment and business services (TE services) will be transferred to municipalities starting January 1, 2025. For this procurement, it means that from January 1, 2025, the interpretation services covered by this procurement will also be used by the South Karelia Employment Services, which will be part of the City of Lappeenranta's organization.
