Historic Opera Rehabilitation Project in Toulon

This contract involves the second phase of rehabilitation work on the Toulon Opera. The project focuses on the treatment of the building's exterior and roof, redesigning the auditorium area including seating arrangements, public reception areas, stage facilities, and administrative offices. The first phase of the rehabilitation was previously contracted and included asbestos removal, cleaning of the stage area and administrative section, facade restoration, and treatment of wooden exterior joinery. The work is particularly sensitive as it involves the restoration of a protected historic monument, requiring that new work harmonizes with the existing structure. The Toulon Opera is classified as a type L public establishment (for performances, conferences, meetings, or multipurpose use) and is divided into 26 lots. The total estimated value of the project is approximately €23,440,812 excluding VAT. A site visit is mandatory for all bidders, and offers from candidates who do not attend will be deemed irregular. The execution period for the work is 32 months, excluding a 2-month preparation period. The project aims to meet the Bronze level of the Mediterranean Sustainable Building initiative. Specific lots, such as Lot 24 (Scenography and Seating) and Lot 28 (Archaeological Excavations), will follow a separate procedure. An insurance certificate will be required upon contract award, except for certain lots.
