Graduate Outcomes Survey - SIC and SOC Coding Services

HESA (operating as a directorate within Jisc) is seeking a supplier to provide annual occupational coding services for the Graduate Outcomes survey. The supplier will receive batches of employer, course, and role information and assign Standard Industrial Classification (SIC) and Standard Occupational Classification (SOC) codes from the Office for National Statistics (ONS). This work supports Jisc's role as the designated data body for the higher education sector, ensuring consistent and high-quality classification of employer data. The coded data will be used to populate Graduate Outcomes provider dashboards, giving institutions visibility of survey progress and outcomes. The supplier will securely receive overnight data files, complete the coding using an encrypted bulk data system, and participate in regular review calls with HESA/Jisc and third-party service providers to identify and implement improvements to data accuracy. This is an ongoing annual service requiring attention to data security, coding accuracy, and collaborative problem-solving.
