Brief

This public procurement contract involves the reconstruction of the traffic signal system at intersection CB.32 and associated modifications at the intersection of Strakonická and Plzeňská streets in České Budějovice. Before the work begins, a PAU test will be conducted to determine how to handle the milled asphalt surfaces. Existing traffic signal poles will be dismantled and replaced with new ones, including necessary equipment. The central dividing strips on Strakonická street will be widened to standard width. The pedestrian crossing on the side arm of the intersection towards Suchomelská street will be relocated further from the intersection, shortening its length. The sidewalk at the northern end of the crossing will be extended to the new crossing location. New barrier-free access points will be created at both ends of the crossing, and existing barrier-free adjustments will be leveled to match the surrounding sidewalk. Warning and signal strips at pedestrian crossings will be restored, and horizontal traffic markings will be partially renewed. Vertical traffic signage will also be adjusted. Sidewalks affected by construction and cable trenching will be restored with new surfaces. New shrubs will be planted in areas where existing shrubs are removed due to cable trenching. A new traffic signal controller will be installed, including a protective canopy against weather conditions. A manual control box will be mounted on its side. The controller will include units for remote control of acoustic signals, a public transport preference unit, video detection, and radar detection for vehicles and cyclists. A new RSU C-ITS unit will be installed for emergency vehicle preference, and the controller will also be equipped to receive DX4 signals from the fire department. New LED signal lights and acoustic signals will be installed, along with full-area pedestrian buttons. New cables will be laid in cable routes with new protective zones. Cables will be housed in conduits along their entire length. Cable crossings under roadways will be done using thrusting techniques. Spare microtubes (12 x 8 mm) will be star-shaped from the controller to each pole in the conduits. The traffic signal system will remain connected to the existing traffic control center and will be powered from the current power supply point. The construction is divided into the following construction objects: SO 101 – Intersection Modifications, SO 102 – Traffic Signage, SO 401 – Traffic Signal Cabling, PS 401 – Traffic Solutions for Traffic Signals. Detailed descriptions of the construction objects are provided in the technical report of the project documentation, which is part of the public procurement assignment. Note for suppliers: - All supplied technology must be compatible with the existing traffic management system in České Budějovice and must allow connection to the existing traffic control center. - Work will be carried out throughout the construction period while maintaining traffic flow in all directions at the intersection.
