Engineering Services for Sustainable Research Center in Freiburg

The Fraunhofer Institute for Sustainability Engineering (IZN) is planning a new research facility in collaboration with five Fraunhofer Institutes (EMI, IAF, IPM, ISE, and IWM) on the campus of the Technical Faculty at Albert-Ludwigs-University Freiburg. This building will host several Fraunhofer professorships under the leadership of the IPM at the Institute for Sustainable Technical Systems (INATECH). The research projects will focus on sustainable material solutions, energy systems, and the resilience of critical infrastructures. A highly specialized research building is required for approximately 115 staff members, which will include office spaces, chemical and physical laboratories, workshop areas, seminar and meeting rooms, IT infrastructure rooms, and storage spaces. The approved area requirement is 2,681 m² of usable space.
