Galway City Public Bus Services - Call-off Competition for Routes 410, 411, and 412

The National Transport Authority (NTA) is planning a competitive call-off for public bus services on three Galway city routes (410, 411, 412) under its Qualification System. This opportunity is open to qualified operators in bands 4-6 registered for the Connaught region. Key requirements include: operating 9 peak vehicles; providing depot facilities; supplying modern, wheelchair-accessible double-deck buses (minimum 64 seats plus 1 wheelchair space and standing room for 14); buses must be no older than 14 years and Euro VI compliant. The NTA will supply ticketing and AVL systems. The contract runs for 5 years with a possible 2-year extension, with services commencing in 2027 following a mobilisation period. The Invitation to Negotiate is expected to be published by end of July 2026.
