Building Consultant Required for Keel House Fire Reinstatement Project

Keel House in Weymouth is a 32-flat residential building managed by Aster Group Limited. Following a major fire on 20 September 2026, the building sustained severe damage requiring comprehensive reinstatement works. Aster is seeking an experienced building consultant to lead and coordinate the entire reconstruction programme. Scope of Damage and Work Required: - 16 flats completely destroyed, including substantial roof and lift infrastructure damage - 8 flats partially damaged requiring selective strip-out and refurbishment - 8 flats requiring electrical and drying-out works Key Responsibilities: The successful consultant will manage and coordinate the design, planning approvals, insurance claims and construction delivery across this complex, multi-phase project. This includes liaising with multiple stakeholders including local authorities, planning departments, structural engineers, insurance brokers, loss adjusters and insurers. What We're Looking For: A specialist building consultancy with demonstrated experience in large-scale post-fire restoration projects, project coordination, multi-contractor management and insurance claim administration. The role requires strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to navigate planning and regulatory requirements while maintaining project momentum and cost control. Timeline: Works are urgent, with electrical restoration scheduled for 28 October 2026 and drying-out programme to commence thereafter.
