Brief

Forestry and Land Scotland is seeking external contractors to provide soil survey services across Scotland under a Framework Agreement. Successful contractors will perform both standard surveys (site assessment, soil profiling, and peat depth measurements on afforested, cleared, open hill, and former agricultural land) and non-standard surveys (specialized peat depth assessments and evaluations of newly acquired or reclaimed land). For each survey, contractors must record soil patterns and data using FC soil classification standards, create digital GIS maps of soil polygons with associated point and linear data using ESRI Fieldmaps, record peat depths in the designated digital layer, deliver all data outputs in GIS format directly to Foresterweb with complete attributes, and produce a written report. FLS will provide access to required digital tools and necessary training. This is an ongoing requirement with potential for multiple successful tenderers.
