Research Return Bursary

This bursary provides up to £2,500 to support researchers re-entering academic research careers after a break of two or more years. The funding is designed to help eligible applicants develop competitive proposals for STFC (Science and Technology Facilities Council) fellowship schemes. Applicants must hold a PhD in STFC core science areas (physics, astronomy, and related disciplines). Funding can be used for activities including conducting literature reviews, familiarising yourself with laboratory equipment, attending relevant seminars and workshops, and other preparation activities to strengthen fellowship applications. This is an ideal opportunity for career returners to refresh their research capabilities and establish themselves back into the academic research community.
