Retraining Fellowship for Researchers Returning to Research

The Daphne Jackson Fellowship supports researchers who are returning to active research careers after a career break of two or more years due to family responsibilities, health issues, or caring duties. This flexible, part-time fellowship (typically 0.5 full-time equivalent over three years) combines mandatory annual retraining of at least 100 hours with a substantive research project conducted at a UK-based university or accredited research establishment. Fellowships are designed to help experienced researchers rebuild their skills, networks, and confidence while making meaningful research contributions. Eligible candidates should have a strong research background and be ready to commit to both the retraining component and active research participation.
