Brief

This funding opportunity supports early career researchers establishing themselves as independent research leaders. Grants of £100,000 to £350,000 are available to develop and lead research projects and manage research teams. Eligible applicants must be employed at UK ESRC-recognised organisations where social sciences represents at least 50% of the research focus. Funding covers 80% of full economic cost (or 100% from April 2024). This programme is designed for researchers transitioning from postdoctoral or assistant positions to independent investigator roles and provides the resources needed to establish an independent research group or programme.
