Engineering Biology Innovation Funding for Food and Environmental Sectors

Innovate UK is offering up to £3 million in funding to support UK-based organisations in developing and scaling Engineering Biology platforms, products, and services for the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra) and Food Standards Authority (FSA). This Phase 1 funding opportunity is open to businesses, research institutions, and other eligible UK organisations working independently or in collaboration with subcontractors. The initiative aims to advance innovative biotechnology solutions that can address challenges in food production, environmental management, and food safety. Applicants can request a share of the total available funding based on their project scope and requirements.
