Design and Install Playful Public Structures in Peterborough City Centre

Peterborough City Council is seeking expressions of interest from experienced arts organisations, Community Interest Companies, artist collectives, or creative practitioners to design, manufacture, and install 4-6 permanent playful public structures in St John's Square. These high-quality installations should function as public art, civic furniture, and place-making features that encourage exploration, social interaction, informal play, and moments of rest. The structures must appeal to people of all ages and abilities, inviting users to sit, recline, climb, balance, and gather without creating a traditional or segregated children's play area. This project is funded through the Pride in Place Impact Fund and supports the Cathedral and St John's Square Vision Plan, aiming to improve the civic space's quality and appearance, create a greener and more inclusive city centre, increase activity and dwell time, and support Peterborough's regeneration. Interested suppliers should have proven experience in public realm design, arts-based installations, and community-focused projects.
