Support Services for Boys and Young Men in London - Mentoring, Training and Education Programme

The Greater London Authority is launching a comprehensive support programme to help boys and young men in London develop resilience, healthy identity, and critical thinking skills. Research shows that many young people are vulnerable to harmful online narratives and misogynistic content, often due to social isolation, limited access to trusted adults, and exposure to misleading online information. The programme aims to address this through three integrated service areas: (1) Intensive one-to-one mentoring for vulnerable care-experienced boys and young men, including those involved with youth justice; (2) Specialist training and capacity-building for fathers, carers and care staff to strengthen their ability to support young people; and (3) Preventative group-based programmes in education settings, particularly pupil referral units and alternative provision schools. All services will focus on building critical thinking, digital literacy, emotional resilience and healthy relationship skills in safe, supportive environments with trusted adults and positive male role models. The programme launches January 2027 with opportunities across three separate lots valued between £138,000 and £400,000 each, plus optional extensions. This is a market engagement exercise to gather supplier feedback on service design, delivery models and costs prior to formal procurement.
