Water Treatment and Maintenance Services Contract

The National Oceanography Centre (NOC) is seeking a qualified service provider to deliver comprehensive water treatment and maintenance services. The contract encompasses planned preventative maintenance (PPM) of water softeners, chlorine dioxide dosing systems, reverse osmosis systems, and closed water systems; cleaning and disinfection of water storage cisterns; and sampling and analysis of domestic, laboratory, and closed system water including Legionella and TVC testing. The service provider must offer emergency repair call-out facility with next working day response for breakdowns, provide expert advice and attend quarterly review meetings, deliver staff training in water hygiene and Legionella awareness, supply water treatment chemicals and critical spares, and produce detailed visit reports and quarterly performance reviews. The service provider must demonstrate full compliance with Health & Safety at Work Act, Electricity at Work Regulations, BS 7671, and relevant codes; provide qualified and trained operatives; conduct site-specific risk assessments and COSHH assessments; and prioritise environmental responsibility through repair-over-replacement practices and WEEE-compliant equipment disposal. Key responsibilities include site familiarisation, staff induction, agreement of maintenance procedures, and participation in regular review meetings to ensure optimal water system performance and safety.
