    Brief

University College Cork (UCC) is establishing a multi-supplier framework agreement for specialist HVAC contractors under the Open Procedure (EC Directive 2014/24/EU). The framework will support HVAC installations across UCC's campus. The initial contract involves upgrading the cooling system at the Boole Special Collections Library. The Special Collections area preserves rare books and artifacts requiring precise environmental control at 18°C and 55% relative humidity. Currently, two aging 300 kW chillers and two 100 kW boilers operate continuously to maintain these conditions, but one chiller is non-operational and both units are inefficient and unreliable. This contract calls for installation of a right-sized, efficient chiller system that will reduce energy consumption, improve reliability, and deliver the precise chilled water temperatures needed for effective dehumidification. The top six ranked bidders will be appointed to the framework to provide ongoing HVAC services and installations.
