Framework Agreement for Woodland Thinning Works - Two Lot Contract

This framework agreement seeks contractors to carry out thinning works across a woodland estate, split into two separate lots based on site size and timber recovery potential. Lot 1 comprises 32 sites with more than 4 hectares of thinning work per site. These larger sites are expected to yield substantial timber volumes suitable for market sale, potentially providing financial returns to offset contractor costs, though returns are not guaranteed. Lot 2 comprises 17 sites with less than 4 hectares of thinning work per site. These smaller sites offer lower timber volumes and may present challenges such as limited extraction access or poor timber stacking opportunities, resulting in minimal market returns. Bidders may submit proposals for either Lot 1, Lot 2, or both lots. For each lot, the Council will appoint the highest-ranked bidder as the primary contractor on the framework, with the second-ranked bidder held as a reserve contractor.
