Northern Ireland Business Waste Data Collection and Assessment

WRAP is seeking qualified professionals to conduct fieldwork to improve business waste profile data across Northern Ireland. The project involves surveying a sample of business units to document their on-site waste management practices using WRAP's standardized questionnaire. Fieldwork will include in-person site visits and on-site records of waste service provision, though alternative data quality improvement methods may be considered. The collected bottom-up data from site assessments will enhance WRAP's existing dataset from previous years, providing improved baseline information to support government policy decisions. Better data quality is essential for WRAP to accurately inform government on the realistic impacts of achieving the Circular Economy Package recycling target (65% by 2025) and the Climate Change Act recycling target (70% by 2030), which is expected to cover municipal, commercial, and industrial waste streams.
