Fire Detection and Suppression System for Turbine Hall

London Energy is conducting a market engagement exercise for the design, supply, installation, and commissioning of a complete fire detection and suppression system protecting four turbine areas (approximately 60 m² total) in an operational Turbine Hall. The system must detect and suppress oil-fire risks arising from pressurised oil leakage onto high-temperature steam pipework. The preferred detection technology is infrared flame detection, and the preferred suppression technology is water mist, though equivalent or superior alternatives may be proposed. All works must comply with UK fire safety legislation, British Standards (BS 5839-1, BS EN 54, BS 8489 for water mist, and others as applicable), and Health and Safety regulations. The contractor must conduct site surveys and risk assessments, design the complete system including interfaces with existing fire alarm and plant control systems, supply all equipment and materials, undertake factory and site acceptance testing, provide commissioning and certification, and deliver operation and maintenance manuals, training, and warranty support. Tenderers must demonstrate proven experience in industrial fire protection systems, provide detailed technical and commercial submissions including drawings, compliance matrices, programmes, and evidence of competence and accreditations.
