    Brief

Shropshire Council is seeking chartered surveyors to produce a Viability Appraisal for Rowley's House and Mansion, a Grade 2* listed building in central Shrewsbury. This appraisal will support a National Lottery Heritage Enterprise Fund application and assess sustainable end-use options, development costs, and conservation funding gaps. The successful firm will analyze the building's viability, research alternatives, and prepare a comprehensive report to determine project scope and appropriate grant levels. If the initial bid succeeds, the firm may be retained for a subsequent Development Appraisal to support Delivery Funding applications. This is a senior-level role requiring RICS-registered chartered surveyors with proven experience appraising complex heritage projects. Proposals must be signed by a firm Director and submitted to Peter Gilbertson (peter.gilbertson@shropshire.gov.uk, 07710 971841) by 5pm on Wednesday, 10 June 2026. Site visits can be arranged by contacting the Project Manager.
