    Brief

University College Cork (UCC) is seeking an architect-led construction consultancy team for the comprehensive redevelopment of the Kane Science Building, a 14,150 square meter, five-story facility that has served as the institution's STEM hub since 1971. This prequalification stage will shortlist a maximum of six candidates to advance to the formal tender competition. The successful consultant team will provide full consultancy services including architectural design (with planning and landscape services), civil and structural engineering, transport and environmental engineering, façade engineering, fire engineering, mechanical and electrical engineering (including BREEAM and sustainability expertise), Project Supervisor Design Process (PSDP), dedicated employer's representation, and information management. Quantity surveying services will be appointed separately. The project aims to modernize the aging building's fabric and infrastructure, reduce energy consumption and emissions, repurpose spaces, upgrade selected areas, and extend the building's operational life in alignment with UCC's 2023-2028 Strategic Plan.
