Mine Water Treatment Technologies Assessment

The Mining Remediation Authority (MRA) is seeking to evaluate existing water treatment solutions for managing mine water pollution from coal and metal mining operations. This information-gathering exercise aims to assess current treatment technologies' capabilities, limitations, and opportunities for improvement. Key focus areas include: technologies for removing saline and other contaminants from mine water, methods for reducing or repurposing treatment waste, and strategies for lowering energy consumption at treatment plants. This assessment will inform the MRA's operational planning for purge and pumping tests requiring treatment, and support the design of long-term Mine Water Treatment Systems (MWTS).
